Goal-post padding built around the post and the rules
For Australian football, padding is part of the playing-surface specification, not just an optional accessory. Measure the post, choose the required height and send the specification through the same PostProtector quote system.
What the Laws of Australian Football specify
Law 3.3.2 of the 2026 Laws of Australian Football requires a controlling body to ensure padding is attached around each goal and behind post.
Foam
At least 35 mm thick foam padding, covered in canvas or painted.
Height
At least 2.5 m from the bottom of every goal and behind post.
Width
A suitable width so the padding can be fixed around each post.
Attachment
The padding must be securely attached around each goal and behind post.

Why goal posts stay on the custom-quote path

What to measure
- Measure around the post with a flexible tape, or provide the outside diameter.
- Specify the required padded height. For Australian football, the national minimum is 2.5 m.
- Count every goal and behind post to be padded.
- Choose colour and tell us whether club or sponsor branding is required.
